Prior to her work as a consultant and educator, Taylor Smith was a Diversity, Recruiting and Training Manager for Proctor &amp; Gamble, where she worked in sales and on programs to retain minority and women employees. She is also currently working as an adjunct professor in child, adolescent and social psychology at Kean University.</p>

<p>Dr. Liebowitz will present the Taylor Cox model of implementing a diversity plan in an organization. Dr. Cox is a nationally renowned diversity consultant.  He has implemented countless diversity plans for companies across the country.  In fact, the book on which this presentation is based is largely about the diversity plan he implemented for ALCOA.  His diversity plan is a five-step model.  For each step, Dr. Liebowitz will involve the attendees to facilitate their brainstorming about what they can do in their own particular organization to move forward on their diversity plan.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<table class="ec3_schedule"><tr><td colspan="3">March 26, 2010</td></tr></table><p>Point Park University&#8217;s Project Children L.E.A.D. (Learning Early to Appreciate Diversity) is holding a diversity creativity contest for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders in school districts in Allegheny County, as a part its 5th Annual Multicultural Diversity conference. The contest asks students in each grade to write a story or a poem, or create an original piece of artwork that reflects on the question: &#8220;How has diversity positively affected your life?&#8221; Criteria that each entry must meet is either a story of 100-200 words, a poem of 10-20 lines, or a work of art using any medium.</p>
<p>All entries must be submitted by March 26th, 2010, and they will be judged by a panel of educators from Point Park University.  There will be three winners from each grade. First place winners will receive $50, second place winners will receive $35, and third place winners will receive $25. The teachers of each first place winner from each grade will also receive an award and be asked to speak about incorporating multi-cultural education into their personal classrooms at the 5th Annual Project Children L.E.A.D. conference on May 7, 2010. Winners of the contest will be notified by April 9, 2010.</p>

<p>Join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for its fourth annual “Tribute” Concert: A Symphonic Celebration of African American Culture. This celebratory performance showcases a fusion of musical styles that reflect the diversity of music. This year&#8217;s concert features local jazz trumpeter <strong>Sean Jones</strong> performing with the PSO on the second half of the performance.  The program also includes Adolphus Hailstork&#8217;s Symphony No. 3 and selections by George Gershwin and jazz legend Duke Ellington.</p>
<p><strong>Doris Carson Williams</strong>, President and CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania, will guest host the concert from stage with conductor <strong>Lawrence Loh</strong>.   “Tribute” is presented in association with the August Wilson Center for African American Culture and the Hill House Association.</p>
<p>Arrive early at 6:30  pm and stay after the concert to experience the Hill House Association&#8217;s &#8220;Live at the Hurricane,&#8221; a jazz combo performance in the Heinz Hall lobby!</p>
